Gerresheimer demonstrates expertise in syringe systems

at the “PDA Universe of Pre-filled Syringes”

       Demand for different syringe systems has increased vastly as a result of the increasingly complex and varied requirements posed by the healthcare market, especially physicians and patients, to the pharma and healthcare industry. The Gerresheimer Group offers a comprehensive and innovative portfolio of pharmaceutical primary packaging products and is one of the leading experts in syringe development and manufacture. Gerresheimer’s diverse and varied syringe system products will be on display from October 18 to 19, 2010 at the PDA Universe of Prefilled Syringes and Injection Devices (JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa, Las Vegas/Nevada), booth 113. A program of presentations and workshops runs parallel to the trade show and concludes on October 21.

       Dr. Arno Fries, Director Product Management Tubular Glass Gerresheimer, was actively involved together with PDA in setting up the congress and exhibition and moderates one workshop. Claudia Petersen, Director Business Development at Gerresheimer Bünde GmbH, will be illustrating the company’s latest developments in her presentation on Requirements Towards and Actual Properties of Ready-to-Fill COP Syringes (ClearjectTM) to be Used with High-demanding Pharmaceuticals (10/19/2010, 10.15 a.m.). ClearjectTM brand syringes are transparent, pre-fillable plastic syringe systems made of cyclic olefin polymer (COP). They are extremely durable and have special barrier properties which make them ideal for sensitive parenteral medications and for the demanding fields of cytostatics and biopharmaceuticals. Gerresheimer manufactures pre-fillable syringes as a bulk or ready-to-fill product. RTF®-brand ready-to-fill glass syringes can have multicolour printing, a laser-applied identity code and a tamper-evident closure system. They are also delivered to the pharma industry sterile, preassembled and, if desired, with baked-on siliconization.
